Scope and Content of Collection

Materials document some of the public events related to exhibitions at the Getty Research Institute (GRI) and also GRI public events concerning architecture and the contemporary arts. The events were sponsored by GRI departments including the Curatorial department and its predecessors, the Exhibitions department and the Department of Architecture and Contemporary Art (DACA), which was formerly known as Contemporary Programs and Research. The events date from 2001 to the present and include lectures, discussions, film and video screenings, performances, and collaborative symposia with other arts institutions.

The materials primarily consist of audio recordings, video recordings, and ephemera, such as event programs, speaker biographies, and promotional material. Documentation for some events also include photographic prints, digital images, and proof sheets.

Arrangement

Material is arranged in two series. Please note that Series II consists of 12.4 linear feet (23 boxes) of master recordings and is available for internal use only.

Series I. Recordings and ephemera, 2001-2016;
