Johnson (Philip) papers
Series V. Personal photographs, 1908-1998 3.5 Linear Feet 5 boxes
This series is comprised of photographs of Johnson, both alone and with others. Ranging in size from 3.5" x 5" to 11" x 14", the photographs are arranged chronologically, except for two boxes at the end of the series containing photo albums and oversize prints (larger than 11" x 11"). Dates followed by a question mark in the Container List are approximations, as many of the photographs are unlabeled. Though Johnson filed the majority of his photographs by decade (e.g., 1950s, 1960s, 1970s), he did file some by content and others by photographer; thus, there are a number of folders that span more than one decade. The sums listed for the photographs reflect the number of items in total and not necessarily the number of originals, as there are many duplicates throughout the files.
