ACHAC collection
Series VII. Sheet music, 1908-1956 17 scores
This short series of scores (four of which are undated) features popular songs of the period that treat aspects of colonial life and/or non-European peoples. The cover art for these scores bears photographs of popular musicians and singers along with illustrations of North and Subsaharan Africans depicted in romanticized, exoticized or racist ways.
Arrangement is chronological; undated materials are listed at the end.
