This portion of the archive is organized into two subseries: Agnes Renger-Patzsch and Ernst Renger-Patzsch (from 1966 to 1977), and Personal correspondence of Albert Renger-Patzsch (from 1924 to 1966).
Series II.A. Agnes Renger-Patzsch and Ernst Renger-Patzsch, 1966-1977 134 items
The first subseries comprises the business correspondence of Renger-Patzsch's widow Agnes Renger-Patzsch and his son Ernst Renger-Patzsch with various organizations, industrial firms, editors, and friends. The letters provide information about the range of professional activities relating to Albert Renger-Patzsch which took place after his death, mainly the reprinting of his photographs, several exhibitions of his work, lectures, and press articles. Correspondence filed under Carl Georg Heise (ca. 35 items) , which also includes letters by Schmoll gen. Eisenwerth, Otto Steinert, Fritz Kempe and the Sigbert Mohn Verlag, focuses on the reissue of Die Welt ist schön and the plan for a book commemorating the late Albert Renger-Patzsch.

Eisenwerth, Otto Steinert, the Sigbert Mohn Verlag in Gütersloh [Dieter Struss], and Fritz Kempe at the Staatliche Landesbildstelle Hamburg; mainly concerning the reissue of Die Welt ist schön and Heise's plan to publish a book commemorating the late Albert Renger-Patzsch. Also included is a letter from Heise to Renger-Patzsch's son Ernst, and a letter from Ernst R.P. to Heise [from 1977]. Ernst R.P. mentions correspondence between Albert R.P. and Mies van der Rohe about reissuing Die Welt ist schön.

Included is an invitation to the opening of The New Community Church Art Gallery in New York, featuring an exhibition of Lotte Jacobi's photographic work.

[1967], Kempe mentions his article about Albert R.P. issued in the magazine Kamera und Schule. In his letter to Ernst R.P. [1977], Kempe expresses his interest in acquiring recordings of lectures by Albert R.P., and photographs ["Gummidrucke"] by Albert's father Robert Renger-Patzsch.

1 letter to Agnes R.P. from the photographer, writing about his article on R.P. published in the September issue of Foto Prisma, stating that it is based on his own student notes taken during lectures R.P. held at the Folkwang School in Essen in 1934.
