| Series I consists of files that were not integrated within the bulk of the records of
the École de Varenne or the research files relating to Anne Willan's writings. It
includes diplomas and awards received by Anne Willan and Mark Cherniavsky,
correspondence with Julia and Paul Child, as well as press coverage relating to Willan's
writings and the École La Varenne. The series comprises CDs and DVDs containing image
files. Software formats were identified using a DROID (Digital Record Object
IDentification) report from information recorded in the PRONOM technical registry. All
dates refer to last modified dates of files.

Anne Willan was awarded the rank of Chevalier of the
Légion d'Honneur in 2014 for her work on the
promotion of French gastronomy and received awards from culinary associations, such as
a lifetime achievement award from the IACP (International Association of Culinary
Professionals) in 1999 and awards from the James Beard Foundation. Series I.C. offers
a comprehensive view of the recognition received by Willan from different
organizations.

the archive. However a distinct group of records consist of systematic coverage of
press relating to Willan's professional activities for the years 1965-1998. Included
are newspaper articles written by Willan, clippings relating to the École La Varenne,
and clippings that appear to have been sent to Willan by publishing houses and that
provide extensive press coverage on Willan's publications. For press clippings
relating to later years, also see Series II and III.
