Antin (Eleanor) Papers
Series II. Notebooks, 1970-2001, undated 3.75 Linear Feet (9 boxes)
Notebooks span three decades and contain notes, sketches, bits of dialogue, and planning for various Antin works, mixed in with personal reflections, art world gossip, lists of tasks, drafts of letters, and other quotidian material. They often chronicle works throughout their process of development. Sketchbooks show her thought process as she develops works, including some early drawings blocking out compositions for 100 Boots, and extensive drawings for projects such as Angel of Mercy and Man Without a World. Drawings of female figures with abundant, messy hair occur throughout the notebooks.
