Container List

Series I. Poster projects, 1985-1995, undated 31.53 Linear Feet 7 boxes, 19 flatfiles (8 ff. drawers)
The series comprises the file folders of 8.5 x 11 inch photocopies, the posters that were plastered on walls in New York or framed for exhibition, photographs, photomechanicals, and in some cases, paste-ups or early drafts. The posters are one of three sizes, here noted as large (24 x 30 inches), medium (17 x 22), and small (11 x 10 1/2), though there is some size variation within each category. Includes the following oversize containers: 86*, 87*, 90*, flat files 1**, 3**, 7**-9**, 11**-19**. The large acetate negatives listed below were used in the production of the posters.
Arrangement note
Guerrilla Girls posters are arranged according to the group's own title/date chronological filing system, which remained fairly consistent until 1990, when the sequence was altered several times. Titles are usually a shortened version of the poster's first line.

Series II. Assorted graphic works, 1980-1999, undated 4 boxes
This series offers a glimpse of the Girls' collective composition process, and is organized into six groupings: ephemera deriving from or related to the poster projects; mass mailings, which targeted some of the same offenders as the posters by reprinting announcements or reviews with commentary; form letters developed for the purposes of fundraising or collaboration; letters of complaint to individual editors and curators; rough drafts, paste-ups and master copies of the above material and some poster projects; and research files, including both clippings and statistical compilations. Containers also include flat files 8** and 2**.
Arrangement note
Much of the material is undated, but where possible arragement is chronological by year within each grouping.
