The large hardcover albums of fabric-backed pages, with one large mounted photograph
per page, illustrate the collections of some of Duveen's most important clients,
including Jules S. Bache, Robert H. and Evelyn Benson and Andrew W. Mellon. The
volumes also include views of the clients' estates, such as Cà d'Zan, John Ringling's
winter home in Sarasota, Florida, Henry E. Huntington's residence in San Marino,
California, and Edward T. Stotesbury's Whitemarsh Hall in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania.

The albums illustrate Robert H. and Evelyn Benson's collection of Italian
Renaissance paintings, which Duveen acquired in 1927 and which was authenticated by
Bernard Berenson. Extensive hand-written attributions by Berenson include
annotations such as "copy," "school of," and "follower of." There are instances in
which the original photograph was removed from the albums and replaced with a
photostat. In one case a photograph is noted as having been removed in 1937 and
given, along with a letter, to Kress. In one album, an envelope dated January 1956
contains duplicate photographs of Beccafumi's Martyrdom of
St. Lucy, which according to the inscription "... were made when Professor
Venturi wrote Mrs. Douglas for this and a Dosso Dossi Three
Ages of Man."
