Vander Poel was a lifelong collector of rare books and manuscripts. At his death, he
was the longest tenured member of the Grolier Club, having been elected in 1938.
Indeed, the Grolier Club holds Vander Poel's papers related to book collecting,
including acquisitions for the Campanian collection. The materials included in this
subseries are a limited number of both original works and administrative and research
materials relating to his book collection.
