	The Special Collections and Institutional Archives departments create finding aids for the Getty Research Institute's archival and visual resource collections and for a few historical records of the J. Paul Getty Trust. A "finding aid" describes the scope and contents of a group of records and provides an inventory of materials within the records.

	Abstract:	The records, created and/or maintained by Program Officer Vicki Rosenberg, concern the grantmaking activities of the Getty Education Institute for the Arts (GEI) from the mid-1980s until 2001. Rosenberg's files thoroughly cover the full range of GEI grant making activites, including detailed files on District, Regional Institute, and Special Initiative grants. Other GEI initiatives are briefly touched upon in her general adminstrative records. Records are comprised of correspondence, grant proposals, review material, reports, and evaluation materials.

	Title:	RecorDIM project records

	Abstract:	Records comprise reports, meeting materials and handouts, correspondence and memoranda, budgets, contracts, publication development and design material, images, audiocassettes, and ARIS workshop materials, dating 1994-2009 and undated, created and maintained by the Field Projects Division of the Getty Conservation Institute. The materials concern the development, operation, and results of Field Projects' Recording, Documentation, and Information Management (RecorDIM) Initiative. Some of the planning, publication, and ARIS workshop materials are in digital form, consisting of text, database, PowerPoint, image, website, and CAD files. The majority of the records were authored by project director and Field Projects Head, Francois LeBlanc, and by consultant Robin Letellier. Some of the files were also maintained by Christopher Gray, a senior project specialist in Field Projects, and Rand Eppich, project specialist and manager of the Institute's Digital Lab.

The architectural records consist of blueline prints, blueprints, drawings, architectural models, reports, photographs, slides and negatives, for and of 401 Wilshire Boulevard. The photographs and ephemera document the interior spaces of 401 Wilshire Boulevard and the various activities of the GCHAH.

	Abstract:	These records were generated by the J. Paul Getty Trust Publications offices and departments and its related Editorial Committee during the course of day-to-day operations. The records comprise correspondence, memoranda, publishing proposals, budget information (including information from the J. Paul Getty Museum bookstore and the Getty Education Institute), and legal documents, 1975-1999. The bulk of the material contains meeting minutes and agendas; many of these meetings were the occasion to discuss publishing proposals. The records also include documentation on the Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals, and miscellaneous files regarding publishing activities of the Museum.

	Abstract:	The collection comprises collected materials related to art collector and oil tycoon J. Paul Getty and his parents, George F. Getty I and Sarah C. Getty. The collected papers on J. Paul Getty include some of his personal and business correspondence and other documents, dating from 1909 to 1976, providing insight into his art collecting activities, his business concerns, and his personal and family relationships. The materials also contain documents postdating Mr. Getty's death (1977, 1980-1989) that concern the management of his estate and eulogize his life and accomplishments. The George F. Getty I and Sarah C. Getty papers, dating from 1890 to 1939, primarily comprise family and oil business correspondence and offer researchers a glimpse into the Getty household. The collection includes correspondence, art and furniture inventories, financial records, legal documents, publications, ephemera, and photographs, dating from around the 1880s to 1989.

	Abstract:	Records of the CIAM Belgian section comprise the records of Paul Fitschy, Liège-based secretary of the Belgian Section of the International Congress for Modern Architecture (Congrès internationaux d'architecture moderne), as well as some CIAM-related documents obtained in separate acquisitions. Included are correspondence and documents generated by the Belgian section itself, the central CIAM secretariat in Switzerland, and associated CIAM national sections. The records reflect CIAM's development as an international organism, devoted to discussion and promotion of modern architecture and city planning. The CIAM congresses, particularly those from 1937 to 1956, are well documented, as are the day-to-day operations of the Belgian section.
