The Special Collections and Institutional Archives departments create finding aids for the Getty Research Institute's archival and visual resource collections and for a few historical records of the J. Paul Getty Trust. A "finding aid" describes the scope and contents of a group of records and provides an inventory of materials within the records.

 Abstract:  The collection comprises two albums containing a total of 94 photographs by Courret Hermanos. Each album begins with portraits, followed by photographs of sites in and around the major cities of Peru and Chile. Album I [Peru and Chile] contains 42 photographs, while the Album II [Chile] contains 52 photographs.

 Abstract:  Album containing 89 photographs, most of which are by Eugène Maunoury, a French photographer who was active in Peru from 1861 to 1865. Included are 57 portrait cartes-de-visite of Peruvian sitters; 16 views of Lima, Peru; three portraits of women from the Marquesas Islands; and two views of Papeete, Tahiti.
