	Abstract:	The archive represents a lifetime of scholarship by the German art historian and curator Heinrich Geissler, who devoted his scholarly career to the study and attribution of sixteenth and seventeenth century drawing in German-speaking regions of Central Europe. It contains research material leading to Geissler's groundbreaking exibition Zeichnung in Deutschland deutsche Zeichner 1540-1640, held between December 1979 and February 1980 at the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, and the publication of the exhibition catalog, as well as unpublished material compiled for ten more years after the exhibition. Extensive files on individual artists are arranged preserving Geissler's original filing system by region or city. Besides a wealth of study photographs and copious notes, there is correspondence with art experts, and card indexes of artists and drawings in private and public collections. Also present are research materials Geissler inherited from another German scholar, Friedrich Thöne, including Thöne's unpublished manuscript "Die deutsche Meisterzeichung."

	Abstract:	The papers of noted Welsh-born feminist painter Sylvia Sleigh (1916-2010) document her life, career, and the larger context of contemporary feminist art, with the bulk of the collection dating from 1940-2000. Sleigh, a realist painter, moved to the United States in 1961 with her husband, art critic Lawrence Alloway. Sleigh's paintings of nude males in traditional odalisque poses remain her best-known works. She was a central figure in the New York City area feminist art movement of the 1970s.

	Abstract:	Cindy Nemser is an art and theater critic largely known for her involvement in the feminist art movement of the 1970s. She was the editor of The Feminist Art Journal from 1972 to 1977 and wrote the acclaimed book Art Talk: Conversations With 12 Women Artists. Nemser's papers contain her writings, including unpublished articles and novels, correspondence with many artists, art critics, and book editors, and an extensive collection of Nemser's taped interviews with artists and pioneers of the feminist art movement.

	Abstract:	The papers document John Pope-Hennessy's professional activities as a historian of Italian Renaissance art, museum director, curator, and teacher. The archive contains museum files, correspondence, study photographs, and manuscripts of his scholarly work. Also included are papers from his family, namely his parents, Ladislas and Una Pope-Hennessy and his brother, James Pope-Hennessy. The family papers include letters, clippings, and manuscripts of published and unpublished works.

It was among the most important galleries in Italy for contemporary art, and had extensive connections with dealers, collectors, artists, and critics in Europe, the United States, and Japan. The archive documents these connections through correspondence, business and financial papers, catalogs, press clippings, and an extensive photographic record.

	Abstract:	The records of G. Cramer Oude Kunst in The Hague in the Netherlands document the gallery's business since the early 1900s until the late 1990s, with the bulk of the collection dating from 1938 to 1998. Of particular research value are Gustav Cramer's WWII correspondence and sales receipts regarding his dealings with Nazi agents for Adolf Hitler's museum in Linz. The archive may be the only uncensored dealer archive documenting the international art market in Nazi-occupied Europe. It comprises over sixty years of the gallery's correspondence and financial records. Also present is a portion of the photographic archive, including circa 500 glass plate negatives, and sales catalogs.
