The Special Collections and Institutional Archives departments create finding aids for the Getty Research Institute's archival and visual resource collections and for a few historical records of the J. Paul Getty Trust. A "finding aid" describes the scope and contents of a group of records and provides an inventory of materials within the records.

 Abstract:  Collection of exhibition announcements, posters and exhibition catalogs documenting the exhibitions held at Virginia Dwan's influentional galleries in Los Angeles and New York. In the early sixties, Dwan introduced artists such as Robert Rauschenberg, Claes Oldenberg, and Yves Klein to Los Angeles, and then worked with Robert Smithson, Michael Heizer, and others upon her move to New York in 1965.
